VINCENTevolution5

The VINCENTevolution5 is the latest generation of the
cutting-edge myoelectric prosthetic hand from Vincent Systems,
designed with the ultimate in precision, durability, and usability
in mind.

Durability & Materials

  • Waterproof to IP68 - fully sealed against dust and water (including the wrist), enabling continuous submersion up to ~1.5 m for around 30 minutes without restrictions on water type.

  • Constructed on a high-strength aluminium frame, with an optional titanium frame for extra ruggedness.

  • Features elastic base joints and spring-loaded finger elements that adaptively adjust around objects, enhancing grip and adaptability.

  • Encased in silicone covers, offering improved hygiene, durability, tactile feel and a natural grip.

Wrist Integration & Bilateral Use

  • Four wrist variants available, from transcarpal to quick-snap with
    bendable joint.

  • Designed and optimised for bilateral amputees, ensuring consistent
    functionality on both sides.

Control & Grip Selection

  • Features an intuitive gesture-based control system (“single trigger control”) - no external
switches needed, just cleverly structured open/close impulses.

  • Allows selection of up to 14 preset grip patterns, with capacity for users to define additional ones via an app—totaling up to 32 grips and positions.

  • Control signals, grip selection, locking, and battery status are visible and adjustable directly on the hand for ease of use and optimal functionality.

Sensory Feedback & Adaptive Grip

  • Offers vibrotactile feedback - small vibrations correspond to applied force, giving the user a refined “sense of touch”.

  • Adaptive grip is enhanced through both the tactile design and internal feedback mechanisms, aiding object handling.

Performance & Technical Specs

  • Six battery-powered motors drive the fingers and thumb.

  • Grip forces:

    • Thumb: 35 N (~3.5 kg)

    • Finger (proximal): 95 N (~9.5 kg)

    • Thumb-index: 44 N (~4.4 kg)

    • Thumb pivot: 125 N (~12.5 kg)

  • Weight: 400–594 g depending on size/model

  • Load capacity:

    • Closed hand: 450 N (~45 kg)

    • Closed single finger: 350 N (~35 kg)

  • Battery life: ~5 years (expected lifespan)

  • Compatible with smartphone/tablet app for control customisation.
